President Buhari and his Vice, Yemi Osinbajo met with officials
from the Transport and National Population Commission at The
Presidential Villa, Abuja today. He queried the diversion of $600m from a
$1 billion loan collected from the Chinese Exim Bank meant to be used
for the construction of a standard gauge rail line linking Lagos to
Kano.
President Buhari expressed his displeasure at the development when he met with representatives of the Ministry of Transport at the state house Abuja earlier today.

The outgoing General Officer Commanding (GOC) 81Division Nigerian Army,
Major Gen. Tamunomiebi Dibi yesterday August 9th, said a good number of
Boko Haram members were arrested in Lagos during his tenure. According
to The Sun, he said this during his handing over ceremony to the the
new GOC Major General Isidore Henry Edet.
"Military job is a challenging task and Lagos State itself is a peculiar state. We have had our challenging times but we were able to overcome them. Under my watch, we were able to prevent the incursion of Boko Haram insurgents into Lagos. A good number of them were arrested here in Lagos. Having served for 35years and retiring now, the legacy I expect my successor, the new General Officer Commanding 81 Division to uphold is to ensure a highly disciplined professional, efficient 81Division.” he said

The unfortunate accident occurred yesterday. A man, who LASTMA officials
said identified himself as a mechanic, was driving a customer's car
from the Island to his workshop on the mainland to fix it. When he got
to 3rd Mainland Bridge, he said he heard something make noise at the
back of the car, so he parked by the
side of the road and came out to check it. As he was behind
standing by the boot of the car, a guy driving a hilux car and on top
speed ran into him. The hilux crushed
his leg. He was rushed to the hospital by LASTMA officials. Both cars
involved in the accident were also towed.
Unfortunately doctors are saying they will need to amputate his leg.
